San Diego Neighborhood

Founded in 1538 by Zapotecs. Formerly known as El Molino or Hospital del Cubito. After the constant requests of the settlers asking for the construction of a temple, it was until 1638 that a Zapotec Indian named Sebastián Martínez and his family donated the Cat Hill so that the temple dedicated to San Diego de Alcalá could be built there.

In the past, the most representative trade was muleteering, although little by little it has disappeared. Today there are still businesses such as laundry, bakery, extraordinary quality cuisine and handicrafts.
